Debbie has only recently rediscovered her artistic side. Having been a keen artist at school, it has lain dormant in her for about 20 years whilst she prioritised her studies and career. Living in Darlington for 6 years, Debbie surprised herself when she won the Committee's Choice Award at the Darlington Arts Festival for two consecutive years - 2009 and 2010.

Debbie's motivation for exhibiting and selling her artwork is twofold:
1: Sharing her work with others to enjoy, and
2: giving back by donating all proceeds from awards and sales to charity.
Given the current theme of her work is indigenous portraits; Debbie has established her own art foundation account that she intends to donate to an indigenous youth development project.
